Formonide 400 Inhaler is a combination of Budesonide and Formoterol. It is used in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD is a group of lung conditions that cause blockage of airflow leading to breathing-related problems) and asthma (narrowing of the airways with excessive mucous production). It helps relieve symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, breathing difficulty, coughing, etc., associated with such respiratory conditions. Formonide 400 Inhaler prevents the release of certain chemicals that cause swelling and narrowing of the airways. Hence, it relaxes and widens the airways leading to the lungs and helps to ease breathing. This medicine is used only for the maintenance treatment of asthma and COPD and is not useful for treating an acute attack. Formonide 400 Inhaler causes side effects like nausea, vomiting, hoarseness of voice, fungal infections in the mouth, cough, headache, sore throat, etc. Consult your doctor if these side effects persist or worsen. Formonide 400 Inhaler should be used as instructed by your doctor. The dose and duration of treatment will be decided by your doctor depending on your clinical condition. Do not stop taking this medicine on your own, as it may cause your symptoms to become worse. Formonide 400 Inhaler may not be suitable for all. It is not recommended for use in children younger than 12 years of age as there are no safety and efficacy data available. Inform your doctor if you have seizures (fits) or liver or heart problems.
